The advocates, community leaders and elected officials who push for change from every corner of Illinois. And the historically neglected communities who’ve been ignored—but never gave up.

These voices carry the truth of this crisis and the wisdom to help solve it. They remind us that real community safety starts with addressing the root causes of gun violence: poverty, systemic racism, lack of resources and so much more.

When we listen to those closest to the pain—and uplift those leading the solutions—we see that this fight isn’t about one issue or one neighborhood. It’s about all of us.
